We're Hiring: Social Enterprise Manager
Catering & Contract Meal Programs | Full-Time | Trenton, NJ
About TASK
The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) feeds those who are hungry in the Trenton Area and offers programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of its patrons. Every person we serve moves along one continuum of care, at their own pace, across five stages:
· Food First – meeting immediate needs with dignity
· Stabilization & Connection – linking patrons to essential support
· Readiness & Skill-Building – building confidence and capability
· Employment & Placement – opening doors to meaningful work
· Self-Sufficiency & Economic Mobility – sustaining independence
Every role at TASK, including this one, supports patrons somewhere along that continuum.
Theory of Change and Organizational Impact
All TASK employees contribute to the organization’s Theory of Change by providing food first and supporting opportunities for greater stability, self-sufficiency, community connection, belonging, and improved quality of life. This position sits at the intersection of two Theory of Change Pillars: Employment & Placement, by creating real, paid training and employment opportunities within a working social enterprise; and Self-Sufficiency & Economic Mobility, by growing the earned revenue that sustains TASK’s continuum of services. Success in this role directly supports One Mission. One Continuum. One Future.
The Opportunity
TASK is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Social Enterprise Manager to lead sales, customer relationships, and event logistics for our Catering and Contract Meal Programs. This role will grow earned revenue, strengthen client partnerships, and connect business growth to paid training and employment opportunities for TASK program participants. This is a full-time, salaried position, located in Trenton, NJ.
What You'll Do
● Grow catering and contract meal revenue through new business development, account management, and an active sales pipeline.
● Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, from proposal through event delivery — ensuring outstanding service every step of the way.
● Coordinate catering events end-to-end: timelines, staffing, delivery logistics, and setup, in close partnership with our culinary team.
● Maintain client records, contracts, and invoicing, and contribute to forecasting and budgeting.
● Foster a welcoming, inclusive, trauma-informed environment for participants, customers, and colleagues, and coach workforce development participants with a strengths-based approach.
What We’re Looking for
● 3+ years of experience in catering sales, hospitality, food service, event management, or business development.
● A history of success in sales and customer relationship management.
● Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
● Comfort with Microsoft Office and CRM or sales tracking tools.
● A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
● Nonprofit, workforce development, or social enterprise experience is a plus, as is familiarity with catering or food service planning.
Who Thrives Here
● You are entrepreneurial, relationship-driven, and energized by both hitting sales goals and making a difference.
● You lead with empathy and understand the barriers facing individuals experiencing poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, or justice involvement.
● You are organized, accountable, and comfortable balancing business performance with social impact.
