Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, student-centered Certified Math Teacher to teach NC Math 1 and NC Math 2. The ideal candidate is skilled at building strong mathematical foundations while helping students reason, model, and apply mathematics to real-world contexts. This teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that supports diverse learners and promotes academic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Math 1 & Math 2, including:
Linear, quadratic, and exponential relationships
Functions and modeling
Systems of equations and inequalities
Descriptive statistics, data analysis, and probability
Algebraic reasoning and mathematical justification
Use multiple instructional strategies (direct instruction, collaborative learning, problem-based learning, and math discourse) to meet diverse student needs
Regularly assess student understanding using formative and summative assessments
Analyze data to identify misconceptions and adjust instruction accordingly
Support students in developing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application
Implement intervention and enrichment strategies as needed
Maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Collaborate with instructional coaches, PLCs, and support staff
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
Uphold school policies, expectations, and professional responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Valid North Carolina Teaching License in Mathematics (6–12)
Strong knowledge of NC Math 1 and Math 2 standards
Ability to differentiate instruction for varied learning levels
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
Commitment to student growth and continuous professional learning
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching Math 1 and/or Math 2
Experience using data-driven instruction and intervention strategies
Familiarity with curriculum platforms and digital learning tools
Experience working in diverse or high-needs learning environments
