SUMMARY
The Assistant Restaurant Manager ("El/la Asistente de Gerente de Restaurante") supports the daily restaurant and bar operations of The Grill, working closely with the Restaurant Management team to lead the service team, uphold established standards, and deliver an exceptional dining experience. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth execution of service, assisting with staff training and development, and reinforcing the resort’s commitment to AAA Five Diamond standards. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will also provide operational leadership and support to other Food & Beverage outlets as needed to meet business demands and maintain service excellence throughout the resort.
PAY & PERKS
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 DOE**
Earn $1000 for Culinary, Engineering, Housekeeping, and $350 for all other roles for each hired referral at any Evans Hotels property.

Deliver and maintain AAA Five Diamond and brand service standards across all assigned outlets.
Promote personalized service, attention to detail, and memorable dining experiences.
Ensure the quality, presentation, and consistency of all food and beverage offerings meet resort standards and exceed guest expectations through exceptional execution and attention to detail.
Maintain a hands-on presence during service to guide execution and guest interactions.
Ensure prompt and effective resolution of guest concerns or service recovery needs.
Assist in meeting operational goals, including labor efficiency, quality assurance, and guest satisfaction metrics.
Collaborate with hotel departments (e.g., Front Office, Golf Operations, Housekeeping) to support cross-functional initiatives and guest experiences.
Recruit, train, coach, and mentor team members, ensuring a high-performing, service-oriented culture.
Ensure established training programs are consistently executed and participate in performance evaluations to support associate development and strengthen team performance.
Promote teamwork and employee engagement, ensuring alignment with company values and expectations.
Address performance issues promptly and constructively, in accordance with HR and company policies.
Maintain a house bank and conform to established cash-handling procedures.
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and sanitation laws.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
Prior experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferred.
A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality & customer service skills
Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required
Experience with POS systems (MICROS, Aloha, or similar), OpenTable, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
RBS Certification required.
Ability to exemplify and always lead with a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 40 lbs.
