Construction Accounting & Labor Compliance Specialist
Masonry Concepts, Inc. is seeking two organized, detail-oriented professionals to join our office team. These positions will support construction accounting, certified payroll and labor compliance, payroll, billing, project administration, and general office operations.
Construction industry experience is highly preferred and will be a significant advantage. Candidates with experience in certified payroll, prevailing wage compliance, union payroll/reporting, or construction accounting are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities will be divided between the two positions based on experience and strengths.
Key ResponsibilitiesCertified Payroll, Labor Compliance & Payroll
- Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports and required compliance documentation.
- Set up projects and maintain prevailing wage, apprenticeship, local hire, and other labor compliance requirements.
- Track compliance deadlines and coordinate with General Contractors, unions, project teams, and outside agencies.
- Enter and review employee hours, quantities, and payroll information in Foundation Software.
- Prepare weekly payroll packages and maintain payroll documentation.
- Prepare monthly union reports and request union status letters.
- Process payroll-related payments, garnishments, direct deposits, and Positive Pay files.
Construction Accounting & Billing
- Process and code accounts payable invoices and reconcile vendor statements.
- Prepare vendor payments, lien releases, supplier releases, and related documentation.
- Prepare monthly progress billings, schedules of values, and supporting documentation.
- Enter billings in Foundation and follow up on approvals and outstanding receivables.
- Process deposits, collections, change orders, and project billing reconciliations.
Project & Contract Administration
- Maintain contracts, project files, preliminary notices, change orders, and closeout documentation.
- Track executed contracts, CORs, warranties, and other project requirements.
- Coordinate jobsite orientations, training, security badging, Live Scan, and other project-specific requirements.
- Assist with OCIP/CCIP administration and monthly reporting.
Employee, Safety & Office Administration
- Assist with new-hire processing, E-Verify, employee records, and manpower coordination.
- Maintain employee assignments and daily manpower information.
- Maintain safety certifications, training records, job-specific safety documentation, and company safety programs.
- Assist with general office administration, document management, phones, mail, and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Construction industry experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with certified payroll, prevailing wage/labor compliance, union payroll or union reporting is strongly preferred.
- Construction accounting, payroll, AP/AR, billing, or project administration experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with Foundation Software is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with lien releases, preliminary notices, change orders, construction contracts, OCIP/CCIP, and Autodesk is beneficial.
- Strong Excel, Outlook, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage recurring weekly and monthly deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- Comfortable communicating with field employees, Project Managers, General Contractors, vendors, unions, and outside agencies.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.

About the Positions
We are hiring two individuals to support this combined scope of responsibilities. Duties will be allocated between the two positions based on experience, skill set, and operational needs. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the fast-paced nature of construction and are comfortable handling a combination of accounting, project administration, compliance, and employee-related responsibilities. Both positions are full-time and in person at our Santa Fe Springs, CA office.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
