We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current symptoms to inform treatment plans.
- Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment procedures and patient information in electronic medical record Dentrix.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records appropriately.
- Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
- Collaborate with team members to review documentation, assist with medical coding when necessary, and ensure seamless office operations.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working in general dentistry.
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and evaluate patient health status during appointments.
- Excellent communication skills for educating patients effectively about their oral health needs.
