Holiday Inn Selma is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Houseman to join our Housekeeping team! If you enjoy staying active, take pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming property, and like working with your hands, we'd love to have you on our team.
Position Summary
The Houseman plays a vital role in supporting both the Housekeeping and Maintenance departments by ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities are clean, organized, safe, and well-maintained. This position requires a team player who is dependable, efficient, and willing to assist wherever needed to provide an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist Room Attendants by delivering clean linens, towels, and guest amenities throughout the hotel.
- Remove dirty linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors and housekeeping areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness of hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, lobby, fitness center, meeting rooms, and other public spaces.
- Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize public areas throughout the property.
- Stock housekeeping closets and supply rooms throughout the day.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, including extra towels, blankets, pillows, cribs, and other amenities.
- Assist with moving furniture, mattresses, rollaway beds, and hotel equipment as needed.
- Support the Maintenance department with routine repairs, special projects, and daily operational tasks.
- Assist with completing Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks in guest rooms and throughout the property as assigned.
- Help maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the hotel's exterior, parking lot, walkways, and grounds.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and lost and found items to management immediately.
- Help maintain organized housekeeping and maintenance storage areas.
- Support the housekeeping team to ensure guest rooms are ready for arrivals on time.
- Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, housekeeping, or maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and minor maintenance repairs is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently push, pull, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as business needs require.
