Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment, following schematics and design plans.
- Support senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC/R systems using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters.
- Learn to read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and building automation system controls to facilitate accurate installations and repairs.
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency.
- Help diagnose issues with electrical systems, refrigeration units, plumbing connections, and mechanical components to support effective repairs.
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to perform equipment repairs and system upgrades under supervision.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about work performed and maintenance recommendations.
Requirements
- Construction experience or hands-on mechanical work background is highly desirable.
- Service technician experience or familiarity with HVAC system repair is a plus.
- Basic understanding of schematics, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles and building automation systems is beneficial.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC/R equipment repair and installation processes.
- Experience with hand tools, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a <PERSON> driver license preferred.
- Ability to learn quickly on the job while following safety protocols diligently.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- EPA certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required for handling refrigerants safely.
