NYC Bagel & Deli is a fast-growing, high-volume breakfast and lunch restaurant dedicated to serving authentic New York-style bagels, fresh sandwiches, specialty coffee, and exceptional customer service. We're looking for motivated, dependable team members who take pride in preparing quality food in a clean and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast and lunch sandwiches accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare Bagels, Cream cheeses following recipes very efficiently.
- Complete daily food prep including slicing vegetables, preparing meats, sauces, spreads, and other ingredients.
- Maintain proper food quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Follow recipes and portion standards consistently.
- Perform daily inventory counts and communicate low-stock items to management.
- Restock and organize kitchen stations throughout the day.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitized at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Properly label, date, rotate, and store food (FIFO method).
- Assist with receiving deliveries and putting away inventory.
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch rushes.
- Support other team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, sandwich maker, or in a fast-paced restaurant is preferred.
- Strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Experience with dough preparation, handling, proofing, or baking is highly preferred, but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
