Part-Time Opportunity at Western Kentucky University
We’re looking for a kind, dependable WKU student to work part-time with our 22-year-old son, who is also a WKU student.
He’s bright, funny, and thoughtful — and he has autism. He enjoys being on campus, staying active, and continuing to grow in independence. We’re hoping to find a supportive fun peer who’s interested in building a genuine connection while helping him navigate college life.
What this role includes:
- Attending campus events and activities
- Staying active and engaged around campus
- Study support and accountability
- Helping connect with professors and build positive relationships
- Mentoring through social media challenges and helping create occasional social media opportunities
- Practicing social and life skills
- Spending relaxed, positive time together
This is a peer mentor/companion role — not related to drug or alcohol addition counseling.
Patience, reliability, kindness and a positive attitude matter most.
*Experience with Individuals with special needs or abilities appreciated.
*Funded through a state agency, drug, fingerprint and background testing are mandatory
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
