Approx. 30-35 hours per week
Position is Designated-Hourly/Part-Time/At-Will
Under general supervision, assists in the planning, development, implementation, and supervision of a wide variety of Community Services programs, services and activities. Provides support to the Community Services Department in a variety of adult and senior recreation programs and activities.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of: The fundamentals, rules and regulations of various senior services recreation programs and activities; policies, procedures, and regulations governing the conduct and safety of persons using equipment and facilities. Methods, practices, and equipment used in maintaining an effective recreational program; CPR, AED and First Aid safety practices; Recreation Activity Management Software; graphics programs; English grammar, punctuation, spelling and composition.
Ability to: Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, community groups, staff, and other agencies. Prepare and deliver oral and written reports to supervisors, staff and groups of individuals. Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact with staff and the public. Delegate and assign tasks to employees and volunteers. Utilize Windows based software. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Two years of related recreation experience, including one year of employee supervisory experience is required. Experience with social services and older adult recreation programs is preferred. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required. Completed college level coursework is required, preferably in Recreation, Physical Education or related field.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Possession of a valid California Driver License is required.
Possession of CPR, AED, and First Aid certificates are required within the first month of employment.
