Position Overview
Over the last 15 years, Property Pros Land Management, LLC has become the premier Landscape Design and Build firm in the area, with a stellar reputation in the Indianapolis community. Based out of Fortville, Property Pros services all of central Indiana with their landscape maintenance and outdoor design needs.
The Fertilization Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality lawn care treatments while supporting the development and execution of effective fertilization and turf health programs. This role plays a key part in maintaining healthy, attractive, landscapes through proper application techniques, problem identification, and collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
Essential Responsibilities for Fertilization Technicians
- Apply granular and liquid fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Partner with vendors and our leadership team to develop and refine fertilization programs, including evaluating product options to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with budget goals.
- Identify and diagnose weed, disease, insect, and cultural lawn care issues; recommend appropriate treatment solutions.
- Perform core aeration and overseed services and support overall soil health initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of applications, treatments, and property conditions.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Property Pros' Standards of Process and quality expectations.
- Assist with landscape maintenance services as needed, including mowing, mulching, trimming, pruning, weeding, edging, blowing, plant installation, leaf removal, watering, and turf repair projects.
- Follow all company policies and procedures outlined within the Employee Handbook.
- Support snow removal and salting operations, when required.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support team and operational needs.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of fertilization experience, required
- Knowledge and ability to calibrate fertilization equipment (example: Z-sprayer), required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in landscape maintenance, preferred
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, required
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to read and write
- Self-motivated, with the ambition and willingness to take initiative
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid driver’s license, required
- Registered Technician (RT) license, required
- 3b State Chemist license, strongly preferred
- 3a State Chemist license, preferred
