Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Lead Import/Export Specialist to oversee and optimize our international shipping operations. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all import and export activities, ensuring timely and accurate shipment processing across multiple regions.
- Coordinate import/export shipments by preparing shipping instructions, commercial documentation, and customs paperwork; manage demurrage and detention issues, monitor cargo movement, and work closely with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouses to ensure timely and compliant delivery of goods.
- Oversee freight management, including carrier selection, transportation scheduling, and fleet coordination to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential delays or violations in transportation and logistics operations.
- Maintain detailed report writing for shipment tracking, compliance audits, and operational performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in supply chain management, ensuring seamless integration of import/export processes within broader logistics initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding with a focus on import/export operations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards, FDA regulations, and international trade compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in transportation management systems (TMS), fleet management, and freight coordination.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to analyze data for regulatory reporting and operational improvements.
- Effective leadership skills with experience managing teams responsible for compliance management and risk mitigation.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting procedures related to customs declarations, trade documentation, and safety standards.
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving regulations and maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
