Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. People who don't mind traveling over the road. Will be on the road most of the time traveling state to state. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Company don't pay for hotel stay if need be within reason, we can help with 20 percent of hotel cost. All depends on circumstances. It's a contract base operation. Must learn how to bid on loads. This role requires a strong focus on safety, timely deliveries, and effective communication with clients and team members. Must have a clean driving record. Will do 40% after fuel every 2 weeks. Once payment starts and driver is biding loads every other day. It will go to a weekly payment schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Cargo van to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring all items are secured for transport.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation of shipments.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any client inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading and unloading processes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including heavy lifting and operating a forklift when required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Twic Card / TSA
- Experience as a delivery driver or van driver preferred.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience in a warehouse environment is beneficial.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting tasks as required by the job.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
