Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plastic Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team across all shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various plastic production machinery, ensuring high-quality output, and adhering to safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with manufacturing equipment, and a commitment to precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate plastic manufacturing machinery such as plastics blow molding, plastics extrusion, plastics injection molding, press brake machines, CNC lathes, and CNC equipment with precision and safety compliance.
- Set up machines according to specifications, including calibration using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specifications using appropriate measurement tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Handle materials efficiently using forklift and materials handling techniques; manage inventory within the warehouse environment.
- Assist in fabrication and assembly processes by utilizing hand tools and fabrication equipment.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
- Document production data accurately and maintain detailed records of machine operation, maintenance activities, and quality checks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational issues and suggesting enhancements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating plastic manufacturing machinery such as plastics blow molding, injection molding, extrusion lines, press brake machines, CNC lathes, or similar equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated manufacturing processes.
- Experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts; valid forklift certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of plastics fabrication processes such as injection molding and blow molding.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions accurately.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail combined with a safety-conscious mindset.
