Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on forklifts and similar equipment.
- Possibly conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, air brakes, and electrical components to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts replaced; ensure all documentation complies with safety standards and company policies.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or cranes safely during maintenance tasks while adhering to all safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and brake systems.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools effectively.
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking to repair or customize parts.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding repair status or technical issues.
