JOB SUMMARY
Perform work involving the skills of maintenance or craft to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the establishment in good repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, HVAC repair, mechanical equipment installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment. Repairing buildings, floors, replacing bulb fixtures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily stocking of warehouse facilities including bathrooms and break areas.
- Daily removal of trash from warehouse area and location mapping of garbage cans.
- Safety system inspections and upkeep include eye washing stations, fire extinguishers and safety lights monthly throughout the facility.
- As necessary water roads.
- As necessary weed spraying
- As necessary snow removal and salting.
- Facility repairs, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
- Maintains buildings to include the repair of windows, door, roof, floors, stairways; construct shop partitions, bins, racks, pallets, and shipping crates; snow removal, lawn care, mowing, etc.,
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Formal training program or combination of equivalent education and/or experience preferred.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
- Critical Thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Physical exertion required.
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb, walk, stand, ability to maneuver stairs and other equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others required.
- Warehouse environment, not uniformly heated or air-conditioned
- Exposure to dust, oil, and industrial lubricants
- Exposure to outdoor weather
- Exposure to different levels of noise
- Steel toe and metatarsal boots
- Depending on the area, there may be other required PPE
