Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with a passion for pediatric feeding and swallowing intervention. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA will implement individualized treatment plans for children with feeding challenges, oral motor delays, sensory-based feeding difficulties, and communication disorders. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with families and interdisciplinary team members to support positive mealtime experiences and improve feeding outcomes.
Your Role at AACT
● Implement feeding and speech-language therapy treatment plans developed by the
supervising SLP.
● Provide direct therapy services to children with feeding difficulties, oral motor deficits,
and communication disorders.
● Support the development of age-appropriate feeding skills, including chewing, drinking, utensil use, and food progression.
● Utilize evidence-based and child-centered feeding strategies as directed by the
supervising SLP.
● Collect and document data on feeding and communication goals during therapy
sessions.
● Educate caregivers on therapy activities and home practice strategies as directed by the supervising SLP.
● Monitor client progress and communicate observations to the supervising SLP.
● Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company, state, and
payer requirements.
● Collaborate with occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and other team members to support client outcomes.
● Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
