Position Summary
The CVMI Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs for employees, customers, utility personnel, and field technicians on the installation, operation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Current and Voltage Monitoring Insulator (CVMI) product line. This role ensures employees and customers are trained to safely and effectively install, commission, and maintain CVMI systems while adhering to company quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on technical training for CVMI products.
- Train manufacturing employees on assembly processes, quality requirements, testing procedures, and standard work instructions.
- Instruct utility customers, contractors, and field technicians on proper installation, commissioning, and maintenance of CVMI systems.
- Create and update training manuals, work instructions, presentations, videos, and competency assessments.
- Maintain employee training records, certifications, and skill matrices.
- Evaluate trainee performance through written tests and practical demonstrations.
- Support new product introductions by developing and implementing training programs.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Customer Support to ensure training materials reflect current product designs and procedures.
- Promote compliance with OSHA regulations, electrical safety practices, and company policies.
- Assist in troubleshooting field issues and provide technical support during customer training sessions.
- Recommend process improvements based on training feedback and manufacturing observations.
- Travel to customer sites and utility locations as needed to conduct training and product demonstrations.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Technical Education, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical utility equipment, manufacturing, field service, or technical training.
- Experience with high-voltage transmission and distribution systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices, instrumentation, and power distribution equipment.
- Experience developing technical training materials and delivering instructor-led training.
Required Skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical measurement principles, sensors, and monitoring equipment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to train diverse audiences, including manufacturing personnel, utility customers, and field technicians.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during training sessions.
- Willingness to travel up to 25–40% as required.
- Ability to work safely around electrical equipment and in manufacturing environments.
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
