Woodshop CNC Operator - 2nd Shift
Position Summary
The Woodshop CNC Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of CNC machinery used in the production of wood components and assemblies. This role works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC routers and related woodworking equipment.
- Load programs, verify machine settings, and adjust offsets as needed to ensure accurate production.
- Read and interpret work orders.
- Inspect parts throughout the production process to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor machine adjustments to correct issues during operation.
- Measure and verify finished components using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Maintain production records and report material or equipment issues to supervision.
- Change tooling, bits, and fixtures as required for various production runs.
- Assist with material handling, staging, and movement of wood products and components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and machine guarding.
- Collaborate with team members to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with other woodshop or manufacturing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read tape measures, drawings, and basic technical documents.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate CNC machine interfaces.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and power tools.
- Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to wood dust and noise.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and woodshop environment.
- Exposure to machinery, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- PPE required as designated by company policy.
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20/hr + 10% shift differential
Schedule:
- 8 Hour shift
- Second Shift, 3:30pm-12:00am
- Monday through Friday
