Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Grocery Manager to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Assist the store manager in supervising daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales strategies
- Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and employee orientation to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
- Oversee stock replenishment, stocking procedures, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage and optimize product availability
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and cashiering activities with accuracy and integrity
- Support purchasing decisions by analyzing sales data, pricing strategies, and market trends to maximize profitability
- Coordinate shift schedules and supervise staff to ensure smooth store operations during all hours of operation
- Implement merchandising plans and marketing initiatives to enhance product presentation and attract customers
- Maintain organized records related to payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks while ensuring compliance with company policies
Experience
- Proven management experience within a retail grocery or similar environment with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong background in retail math, sales management, inventory management, and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and develop team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are preferred for diverse customer engagement
- Experience with POS systems, purchasing processes, and retail merchandising is highly desirable
- Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing potential employees, and conducting employee orientation sessions is advantageous
- Knowledge of wireless sales or marketing strategies can be a plus for expanding store offerings
