Family Partner
Head Start is seeking caring and resourceful individuals to work closely with families to promote their preschooler’s overall development and prepare them for kindergarten and life beyond school.
As Family Partner you will:
- Collaborate with classroom staff, program specialists, and families to develop child and family goals plans
- Link families and children to community supports, healthcare, and other resources based on their strengths and needs
- Coordinate family engagement events (e.g. program orientation, parent groups) and conduct home visits with each assigned family at least twice per program year.
- Promote program participation by attending outreach events, canvasing neighborhoods, and maintaining relationships with community service providers
- Assist with classroom activities as needed
This position is located at our Unadilla and Morris Head Start Centers, has school breaks and summers off, and is given access to an agency vehicle/mileage reimbursement for travel within Otsego County. Occasional evening and weekend hours.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree OR High School Diploma/GED/HSED and equivalent experience/education in human services, social work, family services, counseling or related field; a Family Development credential (generally within 18 months of hire); and one year of related experience in human services; valid, unrestricted New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle
