At Children’s Art Place, we believe art is for everyone, kids and adults alike. For over 19 years, we’ve inspired students across Chattanooga to explore their creativity, learn mindful techniques, and find joy through artistic expression. From after-school programs to adult workshops, our mission is to spark creativity, confidence, and connection through the power of art.
The Role
We’re looking for a Creative, Responsible, and Upbeat Art Teacher to join our team. This is a part-time after-school position, perfect for someone who loves working with kids and is excited to share art in a supportive, fun environment. For the right candidate, this role could expand into teaching advanced classes for teens and adults. It can even grow into a full-time position as our studio continues to expand.
What You’ll Do
- Teach engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for elementary-aged children in an after-school setting.
- Create a welcoming environment where students feel safe to explore and express themselves.
- Manage classroom setup and art materials (all supplies and lesson guidelines are provided).
- Encourage creativity, kindness, and confidence in every student.
- (Optional) Teach occasional workshops for adults or advanced learners at our studio.
- Collaborate with our team to support special events, classes, and studio projects.
What We’re Looking For
- A passion for art and working with children.
- Someone reliable, kind, and upbeat. Kids look forward to seeing you each week!
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and special education practices.
- Previous teaching or childcare experience is preferred (but not required).
- Artistic skills are a plus, especially if you’d like to teach advanced or adult classes.
- Bonus points if you bring experience with social media, video, graphic design, or other creative tools. There are opportunities to grow on the business/marketing side too.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
