Duties
- Lead engaging book club sessions that promote discussion, comprehension, and a lifelong love of reading
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for English Language Arts
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities that enhance literacy, vocabulary, writing, and critical analysis skills
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those in special education programs
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and confidence
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to monitor student progress and tailor instructional strategies accordingly
Experience
- Prior teaching experience with young children or in early childhood education preferred
- Demonstrated classroom management skills in diverse educational settings
- Experience working with children in various environments such as daycare, camps, or youth programs
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and first aid protocols including CPR and AED operation
- Background in youth development programs or youth group activity facilitation is advantageous
- Familiarity with special education needs and accommodations for diverse learners
- Outdoor work experience or involvement in sports coaching, theater, or babysitting enhances adaptability for active classroom settings

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
