Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice. As an RDA, you will assist dentist during procedures, ensure clinical excellence through infection control and sterilization, and provide compassionate support to our diverse patient population. Position is Part Time. Must be available to work 8am-5pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry, providing four-handed dentistry support for efficiency and comfort.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and other medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners, adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety guidelines.
- Manage patient records by accurately updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations for clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform vital signs assessments and review medical history forms to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, adhering to infection control standards
- Support administrative tasks including greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments using Dentrix
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in CA
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry office
- MUST KNOW Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental x-ray procedures, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about procedures using clear dental terminology; compassionate approach
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and experience working within a busy dental environment is highly desirable.
