Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, offering recommendations when appropriate.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, spirits, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Manage sales transactions accurately, handle cash or credit card payments, and process receipts via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables promptly and assisting with food handling and preparation as needed.
- Provide exceptional guest relations through attentive service, addressing any concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Assist in food safety practices, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures to meet health regulations.
- Support team members by collaborating on service flow during busy hours and helping with host/hostess duties when necessary.
Experience
- Previous restaurant experience in food service or hospitality environments preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service enhances guest interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and strong communication abilities.
- Experience with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and basic math for cash handling and sales transactions.
- Knowledge of openTable reservations system or similar reservation management tools is beneficial.
