We are looking for a diligent construction project estimator to perform take offs from construction drawings and prepare accurate estimates for projects for Divisions 10 Specialties & 12 Window treatments.
Description:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Analyze project plans, drawings, specifications, RFI's and ASI drawings, to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects and vendors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Utilize construction estimating software, such as Planswift, to perform take offs and estimates to get quantities of each trade and get the price.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients in a timely manner
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and negotiations with clients
- Review contracts for accuracy to be able to negotiate terms with clients and suppliers
- Assist in the development of project budgets for clients
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction project estimating.
- Strong knowledge of civil Engineer or construction management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using construction estimating software.
- Familiarity with contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and addenda
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate quantity takeoffs price calculations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and installers
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
