Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, including acute care, home care, and family planning. The LPN will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring that all patient needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Perform venipuncture and assist with various medical procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Assist in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families regarding care plans.
- Provide care for patients with infectious diseases, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Catheterize patients as needed and manage catheter care.
- Support emergency medicine procedures when necessary, demonstrating quick decision-making skills.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records, including Cerner systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Engage with children and families to provide age-appropriate care and support.
Experience
- Previous experience in acute care or home care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with venipuncture techniques and emergency medicine practices is a plus.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes is beneficial.
- Understanding of infectious disease management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Cerner is preferred.
- Previous experience in family planning services is a plus but not required.
