Position Summary:
The Utility Engineer is responsible for supporting the maintenance and upkeep of the casino's public areas, landscaping, and equipment. This position includes a range of tasks such as trash clean-up, landscaping maintenance, equipment movement, and assisting senior engineers. The role requires a hands-on individual who can handle routine maintenance tasks, provide excellent customer service, and work effectively as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain public areas, including trash clean-up, pressure washing, emptying trash receptacles, and sweeping hardscapes.
- Perform landscaping tasks such as trimming, mowing, planting, watering, and general care of plants, trees, shrubs, and grassy areas.
- Handle routine maintenance calls involving moving equipment, materials, barricades, and filters as assigned.
- Assist senior engineers when needed and serve as a parts and tool runner.
- Perform winter duties, including snow removal and salt application.
- Escort contractors as required by PGCB regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Must hold a valid driver's license and meet Rivers Casino's insurance policy requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adhere to all policies, including attendance, appearance, safety, and security protocols.
- Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically capable of continuous use of hands, seeing and hearing
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and push/pull. Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests in English
Certifications:
- Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Non-Gaming License. Rivers Casino will assist in the application process and pays the fee associated with this license.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting
- Regular bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently
