Job Summary
A direct hire opportunity is available for an IT Administrator in Norfolk, VA, supporting a consumer packaged goods manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys managing systems, supporting end users, strengthening cybersecurity, and keeping business-critical technology running smoothly.
The IT Administrator will play an important role in maintaining network reliability, supporting employees, managing hardware and software assets, and assisting with IT projects that improve operational efficiency. This is a strong opportunity for someone who values teamwork, responsive leadership, practical problem-solving, and the ability to contribute directly to a stable, fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain servers, workstations, network devices, printers, firewalls, routers, switches, and related IT infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, connectivity, account access, and general IT service requests.
- Manage Active Directory, Office 365, user accounts, permissions, access controls, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Maintain cybersecurity tools and protocols, including antivirus, firewall updates, vulnerability assessments, system audits, and compliance support.
- Track IT assets, maintain hardware and software inventory records, and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Assist with IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, integrations, vendor coordination, and technology improvement initiatives.
