Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentist chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed for both patients and staff.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to enhance understanding and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary, especially for pediatric or medically compromised patients, ensuring their safety throughout treatment.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team through four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with general dentistry chairside assisting and patient care protocols.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, HIPAA compliance, and familiarity with electronic health systems, particularly Dentrix is beneficial.
- Experience working with patients of all ages is advantageous to foster a friendly atmosphere.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
