Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service with a friendly, energetic approach.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling to enhance their shopping experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store area, including stocking shelves and merchandising products attractively.
- Handle cash handling procedures with accuracy while adhering to cash security protocols.
- Promote store specials, new products, and loyalty programs to increase sales through effective upselling techniques.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at the fuel pumps and throughout the store to create a secure environment for all staff and customers.
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience or familiarity with POS systems is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required.
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as change-making and inventory counts.
- Knowledge of grocery store or retail sales environments is helpful for understanding customer needs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks like stocking or merchandising, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
