Freelance On-Site Interpreter (Independent Contractor) – Winston Salem, NC
Language Resource Center (LRC) is seeking qualified bilingual interpreters to join our growing network of freelance independent contractors. Interpreters provide on-site language services in healthcare, legal, educational, government, and social service settings throughout Charlotte and the surrounding areas.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and impartial interpretation between English and the target language
- Facilitate clear communication while maintaining professional interpreter ethics
- Adhere to confidentiality requirements and applicable privacy regulations
- Arrive on time and prepared for assigned appointments
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when representing LRC
- Complete assignment documentation and reporting requirements as needed
- Travel to client locations throughout Winston Salem and neighboring communities
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language (Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, French, Russian, ASL, or other languages)
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Cultural competency and professionalism
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to on-site assignments
- Previous interpreting experience preferred but not required
- National certification, state certification, or interpreter training is a plus
Preferred Experience
Experience interpreting in one or more of the following settings:
- Medical and healthcare
- Behavioral health
- Legal and court-related
- Educational
- Social services
- Government agencies
Work Location
- On-site assignments throughout Winston Salem, NC and surrounding areas
- This is not a remote position
