About the role
Homewood Creations designs and builds custom cabinetry and millwork for high-end homes across Utah and the Jackson, Wyoming area. We're looking for a Cabinet Design Engineer to join our engineering team — someone with a strong eye for 3D design who's ready to grow quickly into a senior role.
This is not a stay-junior position. We're hiring for trajectory. You'll start by learning our design and engineering systems, and we'll invest in developing you toward senior-level design and engineering work. If you're early in your career but sharp, driven, and a fast learner, this is a rare chance to grow into a role with real ownership.
What you'll do
- Design and model custom cabinetry in 3D, turning architectural plans and client selections into precise, buildable designs
- Produce shop drawings and specifications that the production floor builds from
- Work in Cabinet Vision and SketchUp (we'll train you on our specific tools and standards)
- Collaborate with our sales and production teams to take projects from concept to shop-ready
- Grow into higher-level engineering responsibilities over time
What we're looking for
- Experience with 3D design software of some kind (SketchUp, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Blender, Rhino, or similar) — this is our one hard requirement
- The ability to learn new software quickly and well
- Strong attention to detail and spatial reasoning
- Drive to grow — you want to build a career, not just fill a seat
Nice to have (but we'll train)
- SketchUp experience
- Any cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, or construction background
- Experience reading architectural or shop drawings
Why Homewood
- Clear path to senior engineering — this role is built to grow
- Hands-on training in custom cabinetry design and engineering
- A team doing genuinely high-end custom work, not production-line cabinetry
- On-site at our Salt Lake City shop (1837 South 3230 West)
