Location: Follow Charlie Car Wash – Johnstown & Ebensburg, PA
We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Car Wash Attendant / Sales Representative. In this position, you'll be the face of Follow Charlie Car Wash—greeting customers with a smile, assisting them with wash selections and memberships, and ensuring their overall satisfaction from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of customer service experience, a positive attitude, and strong communication skills. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys engaging with people, and takes initiative. You’ll also be responsible for answering customer phone calls, handling basic inquiries, and helping resolve any concerns with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
- Educate customers on car wash packages and promote our Unlimited Membership options
- Operate point-of-sale system and handle cash/credit transactions accurately
- Performed routine light maintenance on car wash equipment, conducted daily inspections, replenished supplies, and maintained a clean, safe, and efficient work environments
- Assisted with basic equipment maintenance, including replacing worn components and performing routine checks
- Performed minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on car wash equipment
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve issues efficiently
- Work closely with team members and management to ensure a smooth, high-quality customer experience
- Stay knowledgeable on promotions, pricing, and new features to effectively communicate with customers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of customer service experience (retail, hospitality, sales, or related field)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a naturally personable, outgoing demeanor
- Previous experience in car wash, maintenance, or general labor is a plus but not required
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and report mechanical issues involving tunnel equipment, vacuums, blowers, pumps, and chemical systems
- Comfortable performing basic maintenance tasks and preventive checks
- Ability to confidently promote and sell services
- Reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn POS systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends
