Job Overview
In this role the Tube Cutter is responsible for accurately cutting and preparing pipes and metal tubing according to precise specifications, ensuring seamless integration into our fabrication and assembly processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run tube preparation machinery, including saws, rotary cutters, abrasive cutoff saws
- Interpret technical drawings, work orders, and cut lists to determine exact lengths, bend radius, and angles
- Measure and verify material dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Inspect cuts for squareness, alignment, and burr-free edges
- Sort, bundle, and label cut tubing with part numbers, gauge, and material type for traceability
- Clean machines, replace worn blades, and perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance
Qualifications
- Experience operating machining equipment such as tube cutting saws in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of blueprint reading preferred
- Ability to perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other measuring instruments
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments including proper use of hand and power tools
- Math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while adhering to quality control standards
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
