ROLE
This is a full-time role in Madison, WI for a Manufacturing Technician. The Manufacturing Technician will collaborate with the engineering team to manufacture aircraft structures, assemblies, and their respective tooling to meet specific aerospace requirements. Responsibilities include hands-on fabrication and assembly of high-quality composite components and structures using established processes, work instructions, and quality standards.
This role is well-suited for someone who takes pride in careful, accurate work. You will be expected to follow processes closely, adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment, and maintain high standards of craftsmanship in your work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabricate tooling, jigs, and fixtures used to create composite components and sub-assemblies
- Fabricate composite and metal components and structures according to engineering drawings
- Perform dimensional checks of components with calibrated measuring devices to ensure correct dimensions
- Report defects, issues, concerns, and process improvements to leadership
- Evaluate composite components for defects and imperfections to ensure they meet quality standards
- Assist in planning and scheduling program needs
- Perform structural bonding of composite components
- Work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with engineers and other technicians
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Experience with hands-on work where craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail were essential
- Comfortable working with hand tools
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- Hands-on experience in tooling, jig, and fixture fabrication
- Experience reading drawings, work instructions, or technical documentation
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment
ITAR REQUIREMENTS
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident, (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
