Position: Surgical Registered Nurse

Shift: MON FRI: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. MST
Holidays & Sunday 12:00 pm 5:00 pm MST Emergency Room Service 24/7 Mon - Sunday
Contract Length: 1 year with option to extend

Health and Welfare: $/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week)
PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service
Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked

The Surgical Registered Nurse will provide nursing services at Pine Ridge Indian Health Service Hospital. Contract personnel may be assigned to the Surgical Department and other clinical areas based on facility needs, including Outpatient, Acute Care, specialty clinics, Pediatrics, Midwife Clinic, Orthopedics, Podiatry, or Mobile Unit.
The position requires flexibility with scheduling, including standby call, call-back, holidays, and potential urgent/emergency surgical cases.
Requirements:
Current, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory
NCLEX-RN completion
Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical services department
Current, BLS, ACLS, PALS
Must be available for standby call and able to respond to the surgical department within 15 minutes when assigned standby call
Flexibility with scheduling is required
Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements
Provide direct nursing and perioperative care to surgical patients of all ages.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as needed.
Perform nursing procedures including IVs, venipuncture, catheterization, wound care, and specimen collection.
Provide patient and family education.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and follow IHS safety and infection-control standards.
Operate and maintain surgical and medical equipment.
Assist with emergencies, including CPR and resuscitation.
Provide coverage in other departments as needed.
