Our Waukesha based client, a provider in custom computing solutions for medical, industrial, and defense industries is looking to hire a Shipping and Receiving Associate to add to their production environment. In this role, you will process incoming receipts, inspect supplier items, and prepare outgoing customer orders to company standards.
This contract-to-hire opportunity pays $20–$22/hr. and offers a consistent Monday–Friday, 6 AM–2:30 PM schedule in Waukesha, WI. Health benefits are also included, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for steady hours, competitive pay, and long-term potential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Remove product from packaging and verify accuracy, security, and condition of product.
- Receive products into the Syteline warehouse and location using proper FIFO inventory storage methods and purchase order instructions.
- Affix all identification labels as per work instructions and ensure all PO products are included.
- Inspect products per inspection standards to verify acceptability and accuracy.
- Work with sourcing, material planning, and product engineering teams to resolve PO, part number, or revision discrepancies.
- Unload incoming freight using a pallet truck, forklift, or by hand.
- Strive to improve efficiency and process accuracy through creative problem-solving and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Provide efficient and accurate information to all internal customers and communicate daily with shipping vendors.
- Inspect materials, products, and containers, verify processes, and perform cycle counts on inventoried items.
- Prioritize and process customer orders, service repair orders, small packages, and truckload shipments according to customer requirements and international shipping regulations.
- Maintain flexibility to assist across shipping/receiving or organizational environments as needed.
- Work effectively with a diverse team, assist in training co-workers, and promote team effort for efficient goal completion.
- Train and mentor new associates on material operations, with the willingness to become a certified forklift trainer.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Strong problem-solving ability to deal with standardized and non-standardized variables using written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
- Forklift operation experience required; training will be provided if necessary.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must regularly stand, walk, reach, and manipulate tools or objects. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
