What We're Looking For:
- Valid Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification
- Certified to teach all middle grades content areas: Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies (credentials must be provided)
- Strong understanding of behavioral intervention and classroom management strategies
- Demonstrated experience writing and implementing IEPs
- Three completed professional reference checks (including at least one from a recent supervisor such as a principal, assistant principal, or coordinator)
Preferred:
- Prior work with GNETS or in alternative educational settings
- Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders
- Training in CPI, de-escalation strategies, or specialized behavior management
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted special education instruction and interventions as outlined in students' IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and appropriate accommodations
- Employ effective behavioral interventions and positive behavioral supports
- Collaborate closely with school leadership, families, related service providers, and support staff
- Ensure compliance through accurate progress monitoring and documentation
- Adapt teaching across multiple content areas to address diverse student needs
