What You’ll Do
As an Admissions Counselor, you will serve as a key liaison between clients, families, providers, and managed care organizations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full admissions and intake process, from first contact through placement
- Verifying insurance benefits and explaining coverage clearly to clients and families
- Working directly with managed care companies on authorizations, claims, billing, and contract.
- Collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth, timely admissions
- Providing compassionate, responsive support during high‑stress situations
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience & Skills:
- 2+ years in the mental health or behavioral health field working with managed care
- 2+ years in Admissions, Intake, or a closely related role
- Strong knowledge of:
- Managed care claims and billing processes
- Verification of benefits
- Facility admissions workflows
- Strong computer skills and comfort with documentation systems
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow‑through
