Lasen, Inc. is currently looking to hire an entry level field technician. Las Cruces is where our home office is, but field technicians work all over the United States performing aerial leak surveys for different oil and gas companies
Field technicians are a valuable part of our flight crew and work along side our helicopter pilots in the air, operating our leak detection equipment. A typical day for a tech involves testing and calibrating equipment, conducting surveys and processing data at the end of the day. Techs work a two week on/two week off rotation in teams of two.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient on a computer and able to learn new software.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel (must be based in Las Cruces as this is where equipment leaves from and comes back to).
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical terminology and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in very hot and very cold temperatures.
- Must be willing to spend a significant amount of time in a helicopter.
- Must have great planning skills and be able to completely plan out complex deployments.
- Must be able to work on a team to accomplish tasks of all kinds.
- Clean driving record with the ability to drive a large vehicle.
- Ability to comply with frequent substance testing requirements/testing. Smoking and drinking are not permitted in and around our aircraft.
- Good communication skills and the ability to comfortably communicate in varying social enviornments.
Preferred Qualifications * Advanced experience with electronics (soldering, troubleshooting, making cables).
- Previous field work experience.
- Previous technical work.
- Advanced computer skills.
Primary Responsibilities * Driving equipment to destination where work is to be performed.
- Testing and calibrating equipment in the field.
- Operating equipment on board the helicopter.
- Troubleshooting issues and working with the home office to resolve problems.
