Blue Deer is a fast-growing dessert, coffee, and hospitality company with multiple locations across the High Country of North Carolina, including Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, and seasonal operations near Tweetsie Railroad. We specialize in fresh baked cookies, ice cream, coffee, catering and creating memorable guest experiences.
We are looking for a Floating General Manager to help oversee operations across multiple locations while supporting shift leads, training , maintaining inventory and employee standards, and stepping into leadership roles where needed.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments and enjoys problem solving, skill development, and operational excellence.
The Floating General Manager will travel between locations to support daily operations, staffing, training, quality control, and leadership development. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality leader who can adapt quickly, lead by example, and help maintain consistency across all stores.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations across multiple locations
- Lead and motivate shift leads and standard employees
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and employee training
- Ensure excellent customer service standards
- Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and operational consistency
- Help manage labor and scheduling
- Troubleshoot operational issues quickly and professionally
- Maintain all inventory management and procurement
- Assist ownership with growth initiatives and store support
- Maintain company culture and accountability standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant, café, dessert shop, or hospitality management experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in fast-paced environments
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations (company vehicle available)
- Experience managing teams and schedules
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
