The City of Wausau is hiring a Fleet Supervisor to help lead the team responsible for keeping our diverse municipal fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service. You'll work alongside the Fleet Manager to coordinate daily shop operations, prioritize maintenance and repairs, provide guidance to skilled technicians, work with departments and vendors, and help plan for future equipment needs.

What You'll Do
- Help lead and coordinate the work of fleet maintenance technicians
- Prioritize preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment needs
- Provide technical guidance and assist with diagnosing equipment problems
- Promote safe work practices and shop operations
- Coordinate repairs with outside vendors and contractors
- Work with other City departments to meet their fleet needs
- Assist with equipment replacement planning, specifications, and budget tracking
- Help ensure the City's vehicles and equipment are ready when they're needed
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of progressive equipment maintenance and repair experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive, medium/heavy truck, heavy equipment, or similar fleet operations
- Good judgment, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Class A CDL with N endorsement, or the ability to obtain the required CDL within 9 months of hire
Supervisory experience is preferred, but not required. If you're an experienced fleet professional, senior technician, lead mechanic, or other skilled maintenance professional who's ready to take the next step into leadership, we encourage you to apply.
Related technical education and fleet certifications such as ASE or EVT are also preferred.

Position Salary Range: $63,980.80 – $84,406.40 annually
Starting salary is $63,980.80 or higher depending on related qualifications.
