Role
A sales specialist, particularly for energy provider programs, focuses on identifying and recommending energy-saving solutions to customers, ultimately driving sales for the provider's efficiency programs.
This is a full-time on-site sales specialist role located in NJ. The sales specialist will be responsible for day-to-day sales tasks, including generating leads, developing customer relationships, conducting product demos, and managing the sales process.
Responsibilities
- Travel to and from your residence to assigned neighborhoods within NJ territory.
- Approaching commercial/industrial property owners and speaking with them about their utility bills and energy audit.
- Promote the energy efficiency program to customers.
- Understand our products and services to educate our potential customers.
- Perform event planning, coordination, and presentations of programs.
- Setting appointments for our representatives and installers.
- Responding to customer inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person to move projects toward completion.
- Assist in implementing specific energy efficiency programs according to defined budgets and energy savings targets.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and the company to ensure quality, customer satisfaction, and cost-effective project implementation.
- Actively “cold calling” new potential customers and developing their participation in our programs.
- Research the markets, accumulating data on businesses, and identifying the key allies to be targeted on behalf of the programs.
- Prepare weekly activity reports and track progress toward program goals.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Must have an understanding of lighting
- Experience in the energy industry is a plus
