Title: Production Designer / Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Production Designer / Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced design professional with a strong manufacturing background who enjoys transforming concepts into production-ready designs.
The successful candidate will develop manufacturing drawings, create bills of materials (BOMs), routing and product structures, and maintain engineering data within the company's ERP system. This position plays a key role in supporting production, new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating closely with Project Managers and the manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create conceptual and presentation drawings for customer review and approval.
- Develop detailed production drawings for manufacturing using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), product structures, and manufacturing routings.
- Create CNC programs for production equipment.
- Support new product development from concept through manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and ERP data.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and design issues while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure all drawings and documentation meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing design, production engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD 2D.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing Technology, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor 3D.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with CNC machining and programming.
- Experience working with aluminum extrusions.
- Knowledge of mold building and woodworking processes.
- Experience with thermoforming manufacturing.
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
