We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, solving problems, and helping construction businesses succeed. This role offers the opportunity to go beyond traditional accounting by providing meaningful financial insights that directly impact our clients' growth and profitability.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting needs of multiple construction clients. This role combines technical accounting expertise with advisory support, requiring a strong understanding of construction accounting principles, project-based financial reporting, and operational workflows.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, technology-savvy, and comfortable working directly with business owners, project managers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting operations for a portfolio of construction industry clients.
- Help clients establish and improve internal controls related to project accounting and project management processes.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Review job cost reports and assist clients in monitoring project profitability.
- Analyze work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and support percentage-of-completion accounting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and general ledger accounting.
- Experience managing month-end close processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and client-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
Preferred
- CPA designation or CPA candidate.
- Experience serving construction, contracting, engineering, or real estate clients.
- Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
- Public accounting, Client Advisory Services (CAS), or outsourced accounting experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Foundation, Viewpoint, or similar accounting/ERP platforms.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
