Maintenance Service Technician
Rancho Vista Group (RVG) is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Service Technician to perform service calls and routine maintenance for our residential and commercial rental properties throughout the Omaha area. This position focuses primarily on occupied-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding promptly and professionally to tenant maintenance requests.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned maintenance service calls accurately and efficiently
- Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry, drywall, and general property issues
- Communicate professionally with tenants and coordinate access to occupied units
- Document completed work, materials used, and follow-up needs
- Take photographs before and after completing repairs when required
- Identify conditions that require a licensed contractor or additional authorization
- Purchase and maintain necessary materials and supplies
- Perform preventative maintenance and property inspections
- Respond to urgent or after-hours maintenance issues as assigned
- Maintain clean, safe work areas and protect tenants’ personal property
- Follow RVG policies, safety procedures, and applicable housing regulations
- Assist with other property-maintenance duties when needed
Qualifications
- Previous residential or commercial property-maintenance or related trade experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, and appliance repair
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently
- Dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to use a smartphone for work orders, photographs, and communication
- Strong attendance, time-management, and organizational skills
- Professional appearance and respectful communication with tenants and coworkers
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and safely climb stairs and ladders
- Must be able to pass applicable background and driving-record requirements
