This position is for a Project Engineer working under the USAF aircraft production and retrofits supervisor. The candidate will support new production and retrofit activities with the development team, other functional engineering groups, and the customer to conceptualize, design, enhance, and integrate hardware & software capabilities for the MQ-9A Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) System, including Ground Control Station and Training Systems. The Project Engineer will oversee individual projects and coordinate with Program Management and the engineering teams to accomplish the project objectives within the given project timeline. The applicant must be able to effectively communicate with all functional engineering departments, Program Management, external customers, sub-contractors, and vendors.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initiate the planning of engineering projects.

Develop innovative designs or modifications to meet project goals.

Communicate and coordinate with Program Managements other engineering departments (safety, flight technologies, systems, software, quality etc.) to complete tasks in accordance with project requirements.

Apply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.

Resolve conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.

Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles

Obtain and analyze test data and document findings.

Recommend solutions to engineering problems based upon investigation findings, test data, and timelines.

Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects in assigned area of expertise.

Make technical presentations to internal staff and customer representatives, as necessary.

Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Perform other duties as assigned.
