About Us:
Are you a hands-on operations leader ready to make an impact in the craft malting and roasted grain industry? We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Operations Manager to lead our Monte Vista, CO facility. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our plant’s daily operations, ensuring we produce the preeminent roasted grains and malts for our customers.
The Role:
As our Operations Leader, you won't just be managing from the desk. You will be the site's Safety Leader and the strategic heart of our production, blending, warehousing, and shipping operations. You will champion a collaborative company culture while overseeing quality control, optimizing KPIs, and managing a talented team.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Lead Plant Operations: Direct daily activities across malt storage, blending, packaging, warehousing, and shipping. Ensure all products meet our premium quality standards.
- Drive Site Safety: Act as the Safety Leader. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HS&E programs to keep our team secure and compliant.
- Empower the Team: Oversee hiring, scheduling, performance management, and employee development. Foster a culture of teamwork, pride, and personal responsibility.
- Optimize Performance: Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for labor, quality, and safety. Provide financial commentary and analysis for plant reviews.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Process, Maintenance, and Quality leadership to align production plans, maintain equipment (PMs), and exceed customer expectations.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications):
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, plus \(4+\) years of manufacturing or operational experience (or equivalent combination).
- Leadership: Proven ability to attract, retain, and motivate teams.
- Tech Savviness: Proficient in Excel, Word, and comfortable navigating cloud-based IT environments.
- Problem Solver: Creative, analytical, and highly organized with a knack for proactive problem solving.
- Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills across all levels of the business.
