HVAC & DUCTLESS SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Experienced Diagnostic Technician
$25–$34 per hour depending on experience and licensing (O6a Required)
Falco’s is a fourth-generation, family-owned home comfort company specializing in HVAC, ductless systems, fireplaces, electrical, and home comfort solutions.
We are building a service department centered around one simple idea:
Solve the customer's problem and take ownership of the outcome.
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician who enjoys diagnostics, understands how mechanical systems work, communicates well with customers, and refuses to simply throw parts at a problem.
You do not have to know every product Falco’s services. You do need to have the curiosity, technical foundation, and problem-solving ability to figure things out.
The Technician We Are Looking For
Our ideal technician is someone who:
- Enjoys diagnosing difficult problems.
- Understands the difference between finding a symptom and finding the cause.
- Takes ownership of a customer's problem.
- Is willing to call another teammate when a second opinion is needed.
- Shares knowledge with less-experienced technicians.
- Documents what they found and why they made a recommendation.
- Communicates clearly with customers without overwhelming them.
- Wants to continue learning new products and technologies.
- Leaves equipment, the customer's home, and the next technician better than they found them.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose HVAC and ductless system performance issues.
- Service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, air handlers, and controls.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system evaluations.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, condensate, controls, and mechanical issues.
- Explain findings and repair options clearly to customers.
- Complete approved repairs safely and professionally.
- Document diagnostic readings, findings, photographs, repairs, and recommendations in ServiceTitan.
- Identify developing problems before they become equipment failures.
- Verify operation after repairs.
- Maintain organized tools, parts, vehicle, and workspace.
- Work closely with Installation, Electrical, Sales, and other Service team members when a situation requires additional expertise.
- Help train and guide developing technicians and trainees when appropriate.
- Learn fireplace and hearth diagnostics if not already experienced.
Qualifications
Core Requirements
- Washington 06A Electrical License.
- Gas Mechanic I License.
- Idaho HVAC licensing.
- Strong HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting ability.
- HVAC/ductless field experience.
- EPA 608 certification.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Professional communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability and willingness to document work thoroughly.
Additional Experience We Value
- Mitsubishi or other ductless systems.
- Heat pumps.
- Gas furnaces.
- Airflow/static-pressure diagnostics.
- Refrigeration diagnostics.
- Gas fireplaces.
- Combustion analysis.
- ServiceTitan.
For candidates who possess the Washington 06A license: part of the position may include supervising and properly guiding registered electrical trainees as permitted by applicable requirements.
